Separating people from the land is part of the same white supremacy that allows these people to separate us from our lives. Reconnecting to the land is part of my pedagogy.

Let’s talk about how our city blocks have been gerrymandered into school zones that make it impossible to access competitive programs for our children. Let’s talk about housing policy that forces people into situations where they are forced to live on those same city blocks. (5)

Those of us who understand how powerful outdoor, land-based education can be; we have been having this conversation. We can’t go back to what we left behind in March 2020. That era is over. (TBH, it wasn’t that great anyway.

We can imagine a bolder future that includes outdoor learning, but not in the classist, watered down, whitewashed way that you are proposing it.
