US radio data is complex, if you& #39;re not well versed in it, it& #39;s probably best to leave interpretation to those who are. Also while it& #39;s great to hold US radio accountable, there& #39;s not much army can do to affect that data. You CAN impact sales & streams though, directly.
I& #39;ve researched radio a lot and educated myself, and most ppl know my position already. Basically I& #39;m more interested in the framework than the granular data. It& #39;s a really complex charting metric, is arguably the most label-driven metric, and imo has way too much power.
Despite the data we can see, radio isn& #39;t transparent anyway - they consistently refuse to acknowledge so many things about how they run their business and what truly governs airplay. Just remember it& #39;s the charting metric where army has the least influence/ability to impact.
ARMY has proven that we now have the power to outsell & outstream any lack of radio in a week one charting debut. But the stranglehold radio has on the hot100 means longevity for singles not getting radio play is not possible. Still, we& #39;ll outsell & outstream as long as we can.
