That's why @VCBrags developed such a bad reputation. Was it that bad from the start? Honestly, yes.

Scroll way back and you can see that VCBrags starts its illustrious quote-tweet career with @sriramk, @CindyBiSV, and @villageglobal, all of whom were posting nice messages about companies they invested in

Does that seem worth making fun of?

In this one @KatieS made the mistake (according to @VCBrags) of angel-investing in @ethelsclub and then mentioning it

What about @sasmith4, what exactly did she do wrong? This panel needed to be mocked?

I don't think @VCBrags had a great understanding of VC given that it hated the most on comms that are part of investors' jobs — boosting their founders, for example, as @dunkhippo33 did here

When @sethbannon had the audacity to feel good about helping founders he'd invested in, that required some extra clap-shaming, did it?

How about @Hadley's encouraging anecdote that shows initial setbacks are not your be-all-end-all? HOW DARE U

Any kind of personal growth message could garner @VCBrags' ire

@pasql got any idea why the account dunked on @katherineykwu in particular so disproportionately? what was the deal there?

Here we have @abarrallen, @shawnxu, @ljxie, @zebulgar, and (again!) @katherineykwu getting 'd for the crime of... expressing positive thoughts about their personal experiences

You could get targeted for any random thing. @pasql can you ask @VCBrags how on earth this observation by @AmitMukherjee counted as bragging?

How about @DavidVandegrift's thoughts on industry dynamics — where's the ostensible arrogance? @VCBrags do you disagree that entrepreneurs are closer to the ground? Seems like an anodyne analysis, not sure what the issue was here...

When @zebulgar posted that he barely knows how to feed himself, that was imputed to be a brag. Like, wut?

VCBrags hates fun, unironically. @chadbyers, @lpolovets, and crew earned a vomit emoji (?!) for dressing up:

Side note, I think @lpolovets nailed it in commentary to Protocol. @VCBrags represents a culture problem that tech needs to grow past.
