Discussion!
Is there a character you like because they symbolize something important for you? Some trait you admire, or some concept you value? Did they help you through a specific difficult time in your life? I want to hear about em!
I have an inborn heart condition so I've always been fascinated by characters who have some kind of weird heart thing going on. With a couple surgeries under my belt and a scar over my pacemaker, always felt a special interest and weird semi-kinship with this guy (cont)-
-...my heart is also my great liability and sometimes feels like a separate entity to me that holds me back. I don't have the energy that other people do. But in the end it's what keeps me going and IT DOES ITS BEST. I feel like my own heart is a separate "character" sometimes!
FLAVIOOOO <3
Over the course of his adventures he learns to admit his own flaws and confront them, to take things for granted less, and how to have an experience that's more valuable than money, BUT he is still "a coward and a cad" and maybe always will be... (cont)
He's great example of a character growing and improving in small but crucial ways, but the magic of fiction doesn't suddenly redeem him completely and turn him into a totally admirable person; it reminds me that we can also work on ourselves gradually and still have flaws!!
A brand new addition to my mental support crew, Ode's energy is very "the past is gone, but I am alive and here in the present despite everything" and that's extremely what I need right now. Thank you cool jacket toad man
(...why are these all Paper Mario characters)
I could put almost every character from SPM here; they symbolize various things for me, like how you can be brought back from the brink of despair, or steadfast loyalty & hope, or how to find meaning vs. nihilism, and a commitment to loving others despite this flawed universe
(Been waiting for this one?)
He is terrible!! He's also the very essence of never giving up, of picking yourself back up after defeat and humiliation, of reinventing yourself and trying new things, of seemingly being gone forever and making a resurgence!! My boy forever & always!
Trucy Wright is an inspiration for anything that involves performing or being a creator. Her commitment is to keep smiling no matter what goes wrong onstage, putting her desire to bring an audience joy above her own self-consciousness.
