As a faithful Catholic who's been in therapy, and who's called an ambulance for another faithful Catholic experiencing psychosis (who themself needed ongoing medication and therapy) - you need prayers, priests, counselors, meds, doctors - all working together.
it's why I'm grateful for Catholic therapists, and why I'm grateful for the ability to shop around for doctors. If you feel one is over-prescribing medication, you are free to seek other opinions.

But it's too simplistic to reduce it all to: well just pray more.
Simplistic - and dangerous. We should be encouraging people to seek all the help they need to keep them healthy and thriving.

This month is suicide prevention month.

My cousin committed suicide in June. How I wish she had had better meds, therapy, etc. - anything to help her.
