College ministry is incredibly important. Not just for students who don’t follow Jesus, but also for those who have always “followed Jesus” with their parents and now have to make the decision for themselves. Perhaps some “unsaved Christians.” @deaninserra
College ministries have an opportunity to come alongside students in one of the most crucial seasons of life where they are increasingly independent in thought and worldview.
Churches that don’t have ministries for college students a lot of times is due to the idea that they don’t get a return on the investment (ie. They don’t tithe). This is short sighted. Students soon become adults with jobs and families. No investment has massive consequences.
And don’t just start a group for college students because you need to create a place for them to go. Prioritize it. Promote it. Celebrate it. These are the most sendable people in your church. Create opportunities to train, equip, and send them around the world.
