What makes all this worse is that Trump would be nothing without his enablers. They know he’s depraved and they don't care.

People incorrectly say that those who support Trump are abandoning their principles. The truth is that they clearly never had any principles to begin with.

Lindsey Graham is the personification of this.

Graham virtue signaled & embraced everything McCain stood for while he was alive & the star of the GOP. It’s now clear that Graham was only pretending to have character because it was trendy at the time.

This is true of others too.

When Trump won, he gave apparent permission to people to abandon their false decency and embrace what they really were.

The Republicans who stood against him proved they weren't pretending to have integrity. Those who back Trump proved they were always just power-hungry frauds.
