6 years ago today, I quit my job.

Forever grateful to @Jason, @AndrewWarner, and @tferriss.

A few podcasts can change your life.

Back in 2012, I hated my job.

I wanted to start a company, but had no clue how.

I typed “Startups” into @ApplePodcasts, and found @TWiStartups.
The first podcast episode I ever listened to was @Jason interviewing @travisk on @TWiStartups where he said he thought Uber could be a $1 billion company.

I was instantly hooked.

@TWiStartups changed my entire worldview for what’s possible in business. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=550X5OZVk7Y">https://www.youtube.com/watch...
I now knew the power of podcasts, and searched for more interviews with entrepreneurs in iTunes.

I found @Mixergy, and couldn& #39;t believe how good @AndrewWarner was at getting founders to open up and share their numbers / strategies.

"How is this free?" was my thought everyday.
Then.... @tferriss launched The Tim Ferriss Show in 2014.

It was like @joerogan depth of interviews, but for business.

After listening to thousands of episodes from these shows and others, I knew I had two options:

1) Quit my job and go for it
2) Stop listening to podcasts
So, with no other plan than knowing I wanted to start something in the podcast space, I quit my job on 9/4/14.

I took out all of my retirement money ($60k), and lived in one unit of a 3-unit multi-family home I bought and fixed up.

I had some runway and a $0 housing payment.
I then started a podcast recommendation newsletter, and cold-tweeted @Jason and @tferriss to turn their podcast episodes into highly curated blog posts/notes. https://twitter.com/erikbison/status/545639353079562240">https://twitter.com/erikbison...
I couldn& #39;t believe it but I ended up getting a chance to work with both @tferriss and @Jason& #39;s teams for a little bit.

This was the sign I needed to know I was on the right path.

I then saw the opportunity in podcasting that I could execute.
I had seen the power of someone appearing on dozens and dozens of podcasts.

But, in 2016, there was almost no one helping CEO& #39;s get interviewed on other podcasts.

This was my light bulb moment.

I launched a podcast agency to help CEO& #39;s get interviewed on other podcasts.
I had no idea what I was doing, but started cold emailing CEO& #39;s I thought could use this strategy.

I also knew there were so many people in the world who had valuable lessons they could share to help others.

Crazily, my very first sales call resulted in a client.
Over the last 4 years, @lemonpie_fm has grown substantially and we& #39;ve evolved to become a full-service podcast agency.

I believe we& #39;ll be the best in the world at executing podcast strategies for brands within the next 12-18 months.
It all started from listening to a few podcasts during 2012 - 2014.

So thank you @Jason, @AndrewWarner, and @tferriss.

I know feedback can be tough to get sometimes in podcasting, so I wanted you all to know the impact you had on a random guy in Ohio.
