I thought about this too... the ghosts remind me of kids during halloween and the table is full of sweets, there are also toys in the living room, them jumping, the train that got wrecked, the pile of clothes. A lot of stuff that reminds us of childhood https://twitter.com/districtfine/status/1301903561526108161
They also use a lateral camera work which gives us the impression of going forward but nothing is moving. The TV also displays a fireplace: they are searching for comfort and heat but they cannot feel it and even how hard they try to get it they will never be able to reach it
If we look at the house it reminds me of the movie parasite ! The house looks big, incredible beautiful and full of space but it appears like a prison for the viewers. They seem trapped in what seems to be their memories. The ghosts could therefore be the memories of themselves
If we come back to moving forward and the train. The train is trying to make its way but a ghost (that probably collapsed) wrecked the railroad and stopped the train. If the train is moving it means somebody started it. So something happened that made the ghost collapse
Also the editing is interesting. Those are not jump cuts but the transitions mimic the movements of human blinking. They are trying to immerse us in this universe, playing the same memories over and over again.
The decor is frozen. As a reference to “A Ghost Story” (the movie) they could be trying to react the memories they had. But they cant find the feelings they felt before (like liking something as a kid and finding it disgusting as an adult)
The songs 19, MIA and Chronosaurus depict the exact same topic of having a latency between how time is moving and how you are moving within it. Having to built a life while having reminiscences of the past
I made this thread about 19 before. I will link it here for people to see the similarities between the two (childhood related stuff, the food, the mood, etc.) https://twitter.com/bodalino/status/1107661721303302147
