How to connect with people on Twitter

Read on to find out how...

You probably heard people say to use "You" in tweets.

How about the use of "I"?

Read on...
2/7

When Tweeting, always use 'You'.

People will only read when addressing them.

They will not read a stranger's tweet unless it is about them!

You can use 'I' when people are familiar with you.

That means when you are a medium / big account!
3/7

But...

When they clicked onto the comments, things change...

They have engaged with the tweet!

They have taken action!

They are now committed to reading the comments!

You don't need to talk about them anymore!
4/7

In the comments, you are free to use 'I' and talk about yourself.

It is an opportunity to express your views.

To show personality.

To show what is unique about you.

People are committed to reading what you have to say!
5/7

The problem with many comments is they read like a blog post on a website!

They are adding value, but it is impersonal.

Impersonal is what makes comments robotic.

The human touch is missing!
6/7

Using "I" will make comments more human, more personal.

It adds a familiar feel.

Using "I" will lead to people seeing the real you.

It builds a connection with people.

Especially with the person who tweeted.

And it stops the robot-ness!
7/7

Bear in mind the headline of comment.

The majority of the people will read the comments.

But there are many comments, not all will get read.

A good headline gives a chance for the comment to get read.

No different from getting the attention with the headline on a tweet.
