every day i understand more the dire need for mandatory women's history courses that actually teach feminist history

let's have the feminist sex wars again. let's argue about pornagraphy, sex work, s&m, and women's rape fantasy again! let's argue essentialism vs. social constructionism in lgbt identity again! let's argue butch/femme again! let's go again! i want to get off mr. bones wild ride!

i've gotten this from teens & 18-21 year olds so many times while literally citing the history that contradicts them & it's v frustrating. can't imagine how much more upsetting it is for people who lived it. ofc i try to hold kindness cuz they're young but https://twitter.com/shafiqmog/status/1301903528684855296?s=21

it's also just exhausting cuz the structure of twitter means we have to inhabit the same (toxically designed) social spaces on here, and also: adults do it too and that shit makes me incredibly angry
