But if I& #39;m listening to a fave, I feel like at the first listen I& #39;m subconsciously inclined to like it

And on rare occasions, one might not go back cause you& #39;ve outgrown them.
Then there are artists like Willow, very unconventional and might be ahead of their time for one to listen to so you chuck it out - I had to revisit her album (Willow) a year later to actually get it. -

It just wasn& #39;t for me. But I started listening to J. Cole and I had to mentally apologise to him cause I slept on him....for a very long time
Currently listening to Fireboy& #39;s album - the first listen I was like meeeh. I& #39;m on my second listen now and I can see why people like it and even prefer it to Twice as Tall. Mind you all of this is subjective.
