There's a reason that Labour in Wales are one of the most successful parties in modern political history. Why? They don't lead. They follow. They follow public opinion and shift accordingly. The public mood in Wales is shifting in front of our eyes. /2
Labour is having to respond. In Scotland they had clay feet and failed to respond. They're now toast there. Rhodri Morgan was adept at adapting to public mood. 'Clear Red Water' was not directed at core Labur voters, but towards soft 'nationalist' voters /3
They parked their tanks firmly on Plaid's turf. Carwyn Jones licked his finger and stuck it in the air and saw the wind was changing. He's been making noises since. The Labour Executive in Wales are being pushed towards the #Indy position, not because of principle or policy /4
but because of politics. People. Retaining power is Labour's prime objective, and if they're to do so they need to respond to what those who vote for them want. Remember they never lead, they always follow. In business this is known as the 'me too' model /5
The groundbreaking work, the heavy lifting, is done by smaller companies, then a larger company will copy/steal the idea, and with greater marketing reach will 'sell' it as their own. But the lesson remains - we, the people, hold the power. We don't know this /6
but when we make our voices heard, it has an impact. Plaid Cymru has been at the vanguard of expressing those wishes politically. Where Plaid has led Labour has followed. But if we're to realise these ambitions, and unshackle Wales from the elitist Tory regime, we can't afford /7
to wait for Labour to catch up any longer. These are dark times. While Labour may follow, Plaid Cymru holds the flame and has a map towards a better Wales. Labour has followed Plaid Cymru long enough. It's time for leadership. It's time for Plaid Cymru. It's time. /Fin
