1) the term "filipino" and "pinoy" is already gender-neutral. the term "filipina/pinay" was coined by stupid and ignorant non-filo people who think that "filipino/pinoy" is a masculine term.

which brings me to my next point,

2) how is a word defining our culture and people masculine. is it because of the "vibes"? is it because the impact of western made it look masculine? what makes a word's gender? hm?

aren't the people behind the language responsible for it?

we filipinos already have the power to mold and break our language. "filipino" is gender neutral. so are the pronouns (ako/siya/sila).

this is our culture. don't let western influences mold us into what we are.

making the label seem masculine forces alot of shitty ideals.

seeing as most filipinos see lesbian as "tomboy" and gay as "beki/bayot" (used for feminine men [bcos feminine is gay apparently /s])

and they can't understand the concept of...

...transgender (im talking about those local filos, they dont understand the difference between gender and sexuality most of the time).

this will just cause more confusion and rage in our community? just think about it.

making it seem masculine will make nb and trans women feel uncomfortable.

(another correction: *nonbinary filipinos who arent masc-aligned or aren't comfortable with any masculine pronouns)
