just a couple of caveats, tips + things to bear in mind before you pitch:
1) i work part-time for huck and freelance for the rest of the week. i have *extremely* limited capacity to go through emails. if i don't reply, it's not a slight - i just physically do not have time.

2) following on from the last point, often these call outs see inboxes flooded with stuff which is sick but also, again, i am but one little lad with limited time+ capacity. if your pitch isnt time sensitive- wait till next week (or the week after) when the field is less crowded!
3) news hooks are good but i'm also looking for ideas around more evergreen stuff or things related to wider trends or discussions.
4) i really want to platform the widest possible selection of voices so if you've never written before, don't let that stop you getting in touch

5) pls pls pls think about your pitch and have your angle down.
- what *exactly* is it that you're trying to say?
- how is it that you're going to say it?
- why are you the person to write this?
it doesn't have to be long - just sharp and sure of itself.

yes nudging me on stuff is absolutely fine, but please bare in mind what i said earlier in the thread about being part-time + very busy. if it's not *extremely* time sensitive sending a follow up 24 hours after you've pitched is a bit much.
