I've been struggling the last few weeks. Don't mind admitting that at all. I love my kids dearly, but having them all go back to school yesterday might just have saved both my business and my mental health.
Why this should hit during what's normally the summer holiday when the pressure is off after months of home schooling I'm not sure. Maybe it was the fact that during lockdown I just 'kept going' because I had to. Maybe it's a case of delayed burnout.
But I've been struggling with concentration in a major way. Getting any form of 'deep work' done has been a challenge. Balancing multiple clients and projects has seemed impossible at times. And it's been taking me three times longer to get anything done.
Thankfully, a couple of days of quiet this week have shown me light at the end of the tunnel and I can already feel myself getting back to normal. There are two projects in particular that I want and need to focus on over the next couple of weeks.
But I'm curious about you. Anyone else struggled over the summer rather than in lockdown?
