Are tuks scarce these days?
Finally for a tuk to (finally) visit my paternal grandparents. When the tuk dude arrived eons later, I hopped in and was like, TO DALUKOTUWA!
and he was like you mean Dalupitiya?
Right, that's why it wasn't on Google Maps...

He took a completely different route (new highway entrances mean new roads) and is zipping at high speed along paddy fields and whatnot. I'm not sure if the tyres are touching the road. A water bottle he'd kept at the back went flying past my head and got lost.
He asked me for directions. I was like er? Idk these roads, man. But the be said a familiar name and I'm like YES to thst junction.
Also, these roads have flooded. Now we're going through water.

He knows his geography - and biology. Being the plant aunty I am, I pointed at some lovely purple blooms among the weeds in the flood waters and the flooded paddy fields and asked what they were. Turns out it's Japan Jabara blooms.
