I'm going to go ahead and apologize now, but I'm posting up a Goga thread.

This guy can play and will be very, very good.

Now - comparing a young 20 year old who couldn't even get minutes to a top 10 player of all time is crazy. I admit it- but I don't think he'll be near as good ok. I'm not saying that - But, he has the chance to be a "just do everything right and have a huge impact"

One of the types of players that is so incredibly valuable in todays game is - the big who can defend the rim, and is a Pick N Roll threat. That's Gobert in a nutshell right?

Problem with so many of these athletic, or big/long defensive centers is - they just aren't that good of basketball players. (hi Capela).

Their athleticism allows them to be a major defender, but then on offense they have so many limitations -

They're awkward with their foot work - sometimes they don't have great hands

Goga doesn't have this problem. He's a pure basketball player - even if he doesn't have a massive bag that would turn him into a superstar. He's a true hooper.

The reason I say "Duncan light" is - the smoothness, and calmness he displays on the court reminds me of Duncan. No - he doesn't have all the tools Duncan had - (he's also 20) But he has the chance to be the "be in the right spot, make the right play" type of center

How many teams have a center that can do all that on the defensive side:

And then run a Pick N Pop and nail a three on the other end?

There just aren't many bigs that have that wide arrange of skillsets.

There's usually glaring weaknesses somewhere.

Goga can step out - but he also loves to get physical in the paint.

There's a pureness to his game that - to be rank we aren't seeing from a lot of centers right now.
