I'm thankful for the tenacity and spirit of folks who are out risking their lives protesting injustice, and I wish nothing but safety and wellness for them all. . .

y'all see the videos - the police are the aggressors, and have ALWAYS been the aggressors ! as I've been saying, the RPD is not interested in mending fences or strengthening community relations. . . they're interested in brandishing power and oppression in the name of "safety"

also the police chief got rightfully CURSED THE FUCK OUT earlier today because he has the ability to stop this, and chooses not to - that is his legacy, as is the mayor's, as the nation watches on

I have been thoroughly exhausted from this day - my feet and joints hurt from walking, but it pales in comparison to the discomfort, chaos and pain protesters are experiencing right now, many of which are friends of mine

I'm now home safe, but if you're able to make it down to the public safety building right now and assist with water and sanitation supplies, please go and help

also, I really wish y'all would stop saying "rubber bullets". . .

they're still bullets, and the immediate imagery dilutes the harmful and lethal nature of them, and no one should be directly fired at with them, or fired at all, for that matter

and last thing I'm saying and I'm getting off - with all of the national attention this is getting and the mishandling of the narrative by public elected officials, as well as the unwillingness to provide justice without harming its own citizens, what happens next is on them

by that, I mean the counter-protesters (the "blue lives matter" folks) who show up at the same spaces, antagonize and agitate - and running the risk of bringing other people in here from out of town to really turn things out of hand. . . neither of which we want

as I said yesterday (cos I see a lot of new folks on here, especially white folk) - it is your duty at this point to ensure that the narrative doesn't become muddied and hijacked by naysayers or people who don't live here - call out the bullshit and keep the truth alive

and to be on the lookout for any violent folks or heinous plots - if you haven't been out to a protest or providing spaces for safety, or money, or food, or other items, that is the least you can do on here
