Nine minutes before the Times story posted, President Trump called for Reinoehl's arrest in a tweet. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1301726907298385921
Given that Trump's been tweeting about Danielson for a week, and is making it part of his campaign strategy, it would be strange if he weren't receiving regular updates on Reinoehl's case as part of his intel briefings, but perhaps the White House is just that much of a shitshow.
But in the case of Reinoehl, a witness is reporting "30-40 shots" were fired when federal agents killed him.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office says that it’s not clear if Reinoehl even fired his gun.

Given the wave of threats against Reinoehl and his family, it’s strange that police would roll up without announcing his warrant, and then be surprised that he was armed. https://twitter.com/arunindy/status/1301781369597521920
The US Marshals service makes no mention of Reinoehl firing his weapon, which he was legally allowed to have.
