THREAD: Why were the Israelites (black people) cursed?

➻ A look into Israel's history as a nation and what led up to the curses of Deuteronomy 28.
The Bible is the most read book around the world today, but do most of its readers know who the book was written to? The Bible contains accounts of history, present times, and prophecies of the future. It also tells the greatest story of God's love for his people.
✳︎✳︎✳︎ The Promise of a Great Nation ✳︎✳︎✳︎
The story of Israel begins in Genesis with father Abraham, who was then called Abram. Abram was instructed by Yahuah to leave his home where he would be brought unto the land of Canaan. He was also promised to be blessed with a great nation of people who would descend from him.
"and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."
Genesis 12:2-3
Why was Abram blessed? Because of his unwavering faith and obedience to Yahuah. He went to the land of Canaan by FAITH to receive his inheritance.
"Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee:"

Gen 12:1
"So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran."

Gen 12:4
Israel was formed on account of his faith & obedience!

"Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."

Galatians 3:6
Genesis 15:1-17 is where the covenant/marriage contract with Israel is formalized:
With this covenant, if either party was to break their end, they would die. Many don't know that it was YAHUSHA who signed the contract by passing through the carcasses, but ONLY he passed through and signed it, which made this a one-way contract.
"After these things the WORD of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward."

Genesis 15:1
We know that Yahusha is the word:

"And the WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and WE BEHELD HIS GLORY, THE GLORY AS OF the only begotten of THE FATHER,) full of grace and truth."

John 1:14
"In the beginning was the WORD, and the Word was with God, and the WORD WAS GOD."

John 1:1
The Word was God because, he and the Father are one. Not because they are the same person:

"I and my Father are one."

John 10:30
Genesis 15 is also where Abram was first told that he would have a son; an heir (Isaac). This heir would come through Sarai whom Yahuah chose. He never commanded Abram to go into Hagar to bring forth an heir. Refer to to Genesis 17:17-21.
Genesis 17:1-14 is where the betrothal begins:
"And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him."
Genesis 17:19
Ishmael still received a blessing as the first born, just not the promise spoken to Abram:
And as for Ish´ma-el, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
"But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year."
✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎ Isaac and his Family ✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎
Isaac grew up & had 2 sons, Jacob and Esau.

"And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb,
and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger."

Genesis 25:23
Esau was only favored by Isaac while Jacob was favored by both Rebecca & Abraham. Jacob tricked Esau into selling his birthright for lentil stew, and he also later tricked Isaac into giving him Esau's blessing.

Birthright: Genesis 25:27-34
Blessing: Genesis 27:1-40
It was Abraham who blessed Jacob first & then ordered Rebecca to watch over Jacob. This led to Rebecca instructing Jacob to disguise himself as Esau in order to receive the blessing from Isaac in Genesis 27:1-40.

✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎Jacob ✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎✳︎
Genesis 32:28 is where we first see the name Israel.

"And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but ISRAEL: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed."

Israel means "God prevails"

• In Hebrew, it is: Yisrâʼêl (יִשְׂרָאֵל)
Israel (Jacob) had 12 sons who would later bring forth the 12 tribes of Israel.
✳︎✳︎✳︎ Exodus and the Birth of a Nation ✳︎✳︎✳︎
After the Exodus led by Moses in Egypt, Israel setup camp in the wilderness. It is on Mount Sinai where we later fulfilled our marriage coveneant with Yahusha.
Yahuah makes a proposal to Isarel through the covenant that was already made with Abraham:
"Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation."

Ex 19:5-6
❥ The Bride prepares to meet her husband:
❥ The wedding contract is read:
"And all the people saw the thunderings, and the LIGHTNINGS, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain SMOKING: and when the people saw it , they removed, and stood afar off."

Exodus 20:18
Who appeared on the mountain? Yahusha. What did Abram see in the vision in Gen 15:17?

"And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a SMOKING FURNANCE, and a BURNING LAMP that passed between those pieces."
This represented the glory of Yahuah. This is the same presence that guided Israel in the wilderness:

"And the Lord went before them by day in a PILLAR OF A CLOUD, to lead them the way; and by night in a PILLAR OF FIRE, to give them light; to go by day and night."

Ex 13:21
It was Yahusha who lead them through the wilderness. Yahusha appeared on behalf of Yahuah because they are one. He is the earthly image/glory of Yahuah.
We know that Yahuah never appeared before Israel. How?

"No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him ."

John 1:18
❥ Israel then gives their "I do":

"And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord , and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will WE DO."

Exodus 24:3
❥ The contract was then sealed in blood:
Ezekial describes Yahuah's zeal for Israel:
But in the next verse, we see how we polluted the blessings of our marriage to Yahuah:
1 Corinthians 10:1-10 also gives an account on what sins Israel committed:
Unlike us, because of who he is & the covenant, Yahuah kept his promise & still led us to the promise land regardless of his anger:

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land…
…which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it: and I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Per´izzite, the Hivite, and the Jeb´usite: unto a land flowing with milk…
…and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way." Exodus 33:1-3
While outside the boarders of the land, Yahuah instructs Moses to send 12 spies to observe the land & he obeys. However, when the spies return with a good report, Israel still refuses to enter.
They feared the inhabitants of the land:

"Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the An´akim there."

Deu 1:28
Moses gives encouragement them that Yahuah will fight for them just as he did in Egypt:

"Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them. The Lord your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your…
…eyes; and in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the Lord thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place." Deuteronomy 1:29-31
Yet, they STILL lacked faith.

"Yet in this thing ye did not believe the Lord your God, who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in , in fire by night, to show you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day."

Deuteronomy 1:32-33
This fear led to disobedience, which then led to punishment. Israel, including Moses (Deu 34) due to his sudden lack of faith (Numbers 20), was not permitted to enter into the promised land. Only Joshua, Caleb, and children were able to enter.
Years passed until every Israelite over the age of 20 when they departed from Egypt under Moses's leadership was now dead, except for: Moses, Joshua, and Caleb. Moses's death is recorded in Deuteronomy 34.
We continued in lawlessness even after we settled into our land. This included the barbaric act of sacrificing of our children to other gods.
This occurred in the Hinnom Valley near Jerusalem:
"And they built the high places of Baal which are in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come into My mind that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to…
…sin." Jeremiah 32:35
Living children were placed into Molech’s hands & died there or were rolled into a fire pit below. Children were also "passed through the fire” prior to the actual sacrifice in order to "purify" or baptize the child.
"They even sacrificed their sons And their daughters to demons, And shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood."

Psalms 106:37-38
So:

Yahuah made a covenant/married Israel. ☟

We went and committed spiritual harlotry only 10 days later & continued thereafter. ☟

Yahuah still spared us and asked for us to turn from our wicked ways. ☟

We continued in iniquity until he had enough and divorced us.
Sexual immorality is grounds for DIVORCE.

"but I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of FORNICATION,"

Matthew 5:32
"And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery, I had put her away, and GIVEN HER A BILL OF DIVORCE;"

Jeremiah 3:8
Judah was not included in the divorce at first due to their continued obedience, and this commenced the split of the two kingdoms.

However, they soon followed the ways of their sister, Israel (Northern Kingdom). ☟
"yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also."

Jeremiah 3:8
Though Judah followed the ways of Israel in committing spiritual harlotry, she was not divorced yet because this is the line that Yahusha would come through.
But Yahuah didn't want us to remain divorced, so what did he do? He sent down Yahusha to lay down his life for us. This provided the gift of salvation and mediated what was once broken between Yahuah & Israel.
Remember:

☞ It was YAHUSHA who passed through the split carcasses to establish the covenant.

☞ Whoever broke their end, would have to die.
So Yahusha sacrificed his life in place of ours to finalize the divorce/end the covenant, but then rose from the dead so that we were able to remarry him.
We were married to Yahusha, but the covenant was still with Yahuah. The Father and Son are ONE, but they are not the same.
Yahusha's sacrifice reveals how DEEP Yahuah's love for us runs.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
This verse is often used out of context to mean the entire world and all nations. However, "world" is not being used in that context here. Let's take a look at what this is actually saying.
The greek word for "world" is κόσμος or kosmos.

The meaning of its usage in John 3:16 is "an apt and harmonious arrangement or constitution, order, government".
The meaning of "order" from the 13th century is "body of persons living UNDER A RELIGIOUS DISCIPLINE,".
"Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are UNDER THE LAW: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the WORLD may become guilty before God."

Only Israel received and lived by the law.
Even "government" refers to a group of people.
Let's take an ever closer look at the verses previous to 3:16

John 3:14-15 says:

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life."
This is a reference to Num 21:5-9 ⬇︎
Yahusha is the serpent lifted up to save the children of Israel.
***************
The awakening of Israel though the Gospel fulfills the prophecy of Matthew 24:14:

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the WORLD for a witness unto all NATIONS; and then shall the end come."

Israel has been scattered to all the nations of the world.
"but in every NATION he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. The word which God sent UNTO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)" Acts 10:35-36
"These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: but go rather to the lost sheep of the HOUSE OF ISRAEL." Matthew 10:5-6
The prophecy in Isaiah 61 is from Luke 4:18-19 which is what Yahusha read.

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of…
…sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord." Luke 4:18-19
Before he finished , he closed the scrolls and did not read the full prophecy. That is because he only fulfilled 18-19 in his first coming. The rest of the prophecy in Isaiah will be fulfilled in the future. This is when the Gospel will have reached all of Israel. ⬇︎
*********************************
Most Christian churches often attempt to do away with Israel while using replacement theology, also known as Supersessionism. They believe that the church has replaced Israel and that they will receive the benefits promised to us & partake in our covenants.

Not true. ↓
"I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew." Romans 11:1-2
Physical Israel is still just as important as we were when Yahuah first made the covenant with Abram.

Physical Israel IS spiritual Israel.
There is no replacing us with the church, and when someone attempts to do so, they automatically place themselves into the categories of Revelation 2:9 & 3:9.
The church is not the bride of Yahusha, Israel is.

It was Israel who entered into a covenant/marriage with Yahuah/Yahusha but was divorced as a nation due to our harlotry.

The new covenant was not made with the church, but Israel.
Yahusha is coming AGAIN for his bride, Israel:

"he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a BRIDEGROOM decketh himself with ornaments, and as a BRIDE adorneth herself with her jewels."

Isaiah 61:10
Being divorced as a nation did not leave room for the church to take our place. We received the curses of Deuteronomy 28 as punishment.
The word "church" is ekklesia & in the old testament, this refers to the called out ASSEMBLY of Israel.

Ekklesia derives from the word "kuriakos" which means "of or belonging to the Lord".

Yahuah has only claimed one people as his, and that is Israel.
"Husbands, love your wives, as Messiah also did love the ASSEMBLY and gave Himself for it,"

Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 5:25 TS2009
In Old English, "church" was called "cirice" or "circe".
This derives from the Greek goddess Circe.

"A sorceress, the daughter of Helios, the sun god, and of the ocean nymph Perse. She was able by means of drugs and incantations to change humans into wolves, lions, and swine."

Am I saying that other nations cannot receive salvation?

NO.

Anyone of any nation can receive salvation after they hear the Gospel. Everyone is welcome. However, the Gospel is good news to Israel. It always has been.
It is the good news that reminds us of what was lost when we continuously rebelled against Yahuah. We are now in the position to receive the blessings of Deuteronomy 28 as the curses have ended.
"But he answered and said, I am not sent BUT UNTO THE LOST SHEEP OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs."
"The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance TO ISRAEL, and forgiveness of sins." Acts 5:30
Yahuah has made a way for us to be redeemed and that is through Yahusha & only him. He is coming for his bride and we must prepare! Repent and let us not continue to live in the same iniquity our forefathers did.
Just as the trump sounded in Exodus 20:18 on the mountain, so shall the trump sound when he returns for us:

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:"

1 Thessalonians 4:16
