(THREAD) @RealClownfishTV @GeeksGamersCom Gonna try to nip this before it gets too big:
There are various reasons as to why Mario 3D All-Stars isn't completely well received. For some, it's the fact that it's a limited release--but that's understandable from both perspectives.
For others, however, it's that the physical copy may not actually be a physical copy, but a case with a digital download code (I've also heard that there is a cartridge, but it only contains 64 and Sunshine, with Galaxy requiring a download code, even though there should be...
...Switch cartridges large enough to be capable contain all three). For others still, it may be that the remasters don't appear provide any quality of life updates to the games (like the blue coins in Sunshine).
And for people like myself, there's the fact that they excluded Galaxy 2 from the collection (and the Anniversary Direct entirely).

Please don't assume that the complainers are wrong just because they're affiliated with a certain group, like Twitter or Polygon.
I've put up with a lot of aggressive defense recently for recent questionable decisions by Nintendo--namely Paper Mario and Pokemon--and if it continues, people in the company will notice and continue to try to push the envelope when it comes to anti-consumer practices.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize it. I'm not blinded by nostalgia or brand loyalty, and I'm seeing a lot of people of those types grouping any and all critics as whiners and haters.
I know you guys understand this, because I've been following you for a long time, and seen you on the receiving end of this. Ghostbusters. Star Wars. The Last of Us.
Just be aware that many of us are weary of Nintendo's recent decisions because it can set an unfavorable precedent at any time.
