I can't believe David Graeber is gone. It is such terrible and sad news. I would like to express my condolences to family, friends, colleagues, comrades, and everyone (like me) who is grieving his loss today.
I first became aware of David Graeber's work when I saw this book on the floor of my partner's room about 10 years ago, the Japanese translation of "Fragments of an Anarchist Anthropology."
At that time my partner, an economic anthropologist, was also reading "Toward an Anthropological Theory of Value," which she loaned to me. This book had a real impact on me, and it deepened my interest in anthropology.
I want to end this thread with this lecture in Birmingham in 2018. This is a good memory for my family. RIP David Graeber.
