Who would’ve thought that all it would take for Democrats to throw in the towel on social distancing was @SpeakerPelosi breaking the rules to get a haircut?

A quick trip down memory lane for the no-longer-concerned-about-the-rules crowd.
We’ll begin with @joelockhart. You may remember that he asserted that @Bethanyshondark was a “grandma killer” for suggesting she and her family would go outside.

But Pelosi gets a haircut, and now his chief concern is Fox News personalities and not the “false outrage.”
“No masks. No gloves. No social distancing. Unbelievable.” also applies to @SpeakerPelosi, but instead, @shannonrwatts blames sexism for madam speaker’s bad behavior.
@WajahatAli literally has “wear a mask” in his Twitter name.
@espiers is bizarrely no longer interested in old people not wearing a mask or following social distancing restrictions now that it’s the beloved speaker doing it.
Obligatory @SethAbramson mention.
@tonyposnanski is far more interested in a certain variety of elected officials wearing masks it seems - the ones with R after their names.

His team gets a pass.
And all of a sudden @davidmweissman is no longer interested in the standard it sets when a powerful politician doesn’t abide by quarantine restrictions.

Curious.
Maybe @ClaraJeffery can send Speaker Pelosi this graphic?
Now, it shouldn’t surprise us that the blue checks behaved as they did, because many in the media seem willing to run with Pelosi’s BS explanation/non-apology.

Here’s @nytimes, suddenly less interested in relaxed social distancing.
I wonder if @AP forgot about Pelosi mandating masks on the floor of congress?

Seems rich in retrospect.
Bizarre that @thedailybeast is whataboutting the salon rather than questioning her patriotism.
Perhaps, rather than reprint and run with Pelosi’s petty and childish defense, @NBCNews can share with her the feature about children wearing masks?
Ditto that with @ABC. Maybe Pelosi just didn’t social distance because she didn’t want to engage in privilege?
And @washingtonpost with the reminder that “news analysis” is the worst trend in modern media.

Also, to be clear, the criticism IS warranted.
I’ll keep saying it until I’m blue in the face: we’re either doing this or we’re not. And I cannot stand the hypocrisy of giving one side a pass and not the other.

It blows my mind that a shred of intellectual consistency escapes so many these days.
Just don’t be a hypocrite! That’s it! That’s all I ask!
