It's very popular for jaded political insiders to say clever things like 'nothing has changed on child poverty'. Problem is, when you look at the facts, it ain't so. In 3 yrs we've had:
-Best Start
-Winter Energy Payment
-Working for Families boost
-Benefit boost
-26 Weeks PPL...
-20% higher min wage
-4% unemployment
-healthy homes standards
-3000 state houses built, 3000 more underway (+community & transitional housing)

poverty indicators are improving & (pre-COVID) were on track for the Government's targets in poverty reduction. https://www.budget.govt.nz/budget/2020/wellbeing/child-poverty-report/trends-prior-to-covid-19.htm
of course, lots more to do.

there's small things, like more state houses, more comprehensive dental are for kids (and adults).

There's also tranformative options like a UBI/citizens dividend from charging rents on resource monopolisation/use/pollution
