Soo...... if you truly understand—like, fully comprehend—what Jesus did for you on the cross..... why are you not the biggest advocate for social justice?
Something I do not understand at all is how some Christians are not more passionate about social justice. Widows, orphans, tax collectors, sinners. Those were Jesus’s people. He cared about the minorities when no one else did.
I just......... I think about what Jesus did for me. And coupled with that, I think about his ministry on Earth..... HOW do we even read anything out of our Bible and then think we’re too good or too special to trouble ourselves with social justice issues.
And I am preaching straight to the choir here. I am learning to be more open, sensitive... to be an ally every day. And I’m terrible at it. But after breaking through my privilege and learning more about the heart of Jesus I just don’t get it.
And I’m not trying to get political either. This is a HUMAN issue, not a political issue. But then I look at the Republican Party (with whom a lot of Christians identify)..... and I know I’m young and I don’t know a lot—especially about government— but that ain’t it.
That’s just not right. Jesus was selfless. He was caring. Compassionate. Would Jesus ever build a wall to keep out immigrants? I can’t even entertain that thought without laughing?????
Sorry for the rant. Just this has been on my heart for so long now. Who ever thought Christian college would radically change my political views....

But that’s just it. So many people use their political party to identify themselves. I just want to do what Jesus would do. And I’m sorry but in my opinion Jesus would never clinch to power, money, or status at the expense of other previous human lives. Man.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk. I think I’m done now because I’m starting to just ramble...... but I just feel like the more I learn about Jesus the more my heart is opened to things I saw as “radical” or “liberal” due to my upbringing. That’s all. Just food for thought I guess
