My mental health is not well tonight.

Thankfully, I have a very strong support network. In fact, I’m on my way to a support group meeting now.

I share so openly because it’s important to know we can talk about these things, it’s ok, and that we’re not alone.

You’re not alone.
Over the next month, it will be the one year anniversary of a friend’s suicide and two year anniversary of a fellow officer’s death I was bedside for when he took his final breath.

Mixed with alleged comments of betrayal towards our military, I’m hurting, sad, and angry.
These emotions are natural, they are healthy.

What becomes unhealthy is when we ignore them or leave them untreated.

That is why mental health is so important to exercise.
