White women pretending to be non-white is so incredibly violent and I’m not excusing them. But.

What does it say about how we value eurocentricity when white women who look like white women are allowed to call themselves black and get away with it?
I’ve been a light skinned black woman for a very very long time. And I know the difference between a light-skinned black woman and a white woman. And now I’m not so sure that everybody else does.
It reminds me of the conversation on black men who fetishize light skinned women. How they don’t actually see our faces they just see that we are light and that alone makes us desirable.
(which is how a lot of y’all end up gassing up women who look like a foot but that’s a conversation for another day)
Is it possible that people just see a general hue and decide, “Oh that’s one of those...”

I just keep looking at her and I’m not understanding how people fell for this.
