I feel so incredibly sorry for the many women within this industry who have been the victim of sexual assault but are worried about speaking up, who are now seeing the head of one of the biggest record labels in dance music memorialise an alleged rapist like this https://twitter.com/SimonDunmore/status/1301062544992407552
A six-tweet thread showering praise on a ‘Superstar’ yet downplaying his sexual battery charge into a single sentence describing it as “recent events causing a shadow on his *incredible* legacy” is insanely irresponsible coming from such a high profile voice in the industry
But will also prevent so many other victims of sexual assault from coming forward in fear that they won’t be listened to, because god forbid they ruin a man’s legacy!! Sexual assault is a systemic issue within the dance music industry and posts like @SimonDunmore’s solidify this
And don’t even get me started on Jamie Jones
Important thread by The Blessed Madonna who has not only spoken about it a lot better then I have but also sadly speaks from experience https://twitter.com/blessed_madonna/status/1301494980721115136
