1/Sometimes people on here assume that myself and other Green Party campaign people in Baltimore have not learned lessons from observing what works for successful progressive campaigns in democratic primaries.
2/ we have. We also understand that general election campaigns in Baltimore are an almost entirely unknown commodity to the paid consultants who win primaries.
3/ not one of those folks has won a general election race in Baltimore outside of the Democratic Party. If they would like to help do so, or have useful advice I will listen.

One thing I have learned though is the assumptions that make up the strategy are totally different.
4/wrapping analysis around GENERAL ELECTIONS is something I have spent probably 30 hours a week on for the last 5 years.

It’s a different process.

It requires doors+digital+dollars on a scale that experience with primaries alone... simply can’t account for
5/ and at some point some one is going to figure it out AND implement it. When they do the game will change. And thus the rules (set by democrats) will as well.
6/ I fully Intend to be be of the people to figure it out, and when I do Baltimore city will be better for it.

Deciding elections in the primaries is an inherently anti-Democratic process.
6/The people who have built an industry and a career off of that baltimore truism are enablers of a process that renders many to most VOTERS irrelevant.
7/all of this to say... anyone who wants to give this a try, I encourage you to do so, but building your brand from the sidelines is noted .
8/ let’s build power for a better baltimore using both of the elections we have. There have been some great primary victories and the people behind them should be applauded.

There are also times when general election campaigns are needed.

Lets build those up, together.
