so, i dont really know where to start..there& #39;s a lot to unpack. im going to start by saying if you& #39;re going to be rude and act like a child. i will block you because i dont deal with that here. this is going to be a long thread so if you dont feel like reading just scroll.
im going to start out by saying tyler joseph isnt racist. just in case that needed to be said. he loves and cares about everyone and thinks it& #39;s so powerful that people regardless of religion, sexuality, race, identity, politics etc. can all unite together for the band when-
the world is always under so much division. because we all know what it& #39;s like to struggle with things inside our selves and our heads. and we have a community for the large part, that makes it safe for us. it& #39;s one of the first of its kind. and really one of the biggest-
supports tyler has.
as blunt as possible, tyler is stubborn. a smartass. and an asshole sometimes. it& #39;s his personality. its just the way he presents himself and he knows it. hes one of those loveable assholes you know. because you know deep down hes a great guy.

and sometimes tyler doesn& #39;t think things through. he doesn& #39;t always realize how something he can say can be taken the wrong way. and it sometimes causes a lot of problems. he doesn& #39;t see how other people can misinterpret what he& #39;s saying because he thinks everyone is going to-
immediately know what he means. and that isnt the case. and sometimes he thinks something is hilarious and others dont. one of his biggest issues is that he doesn& #39;t speak very well. he can& #39;t articulate things.
he spends hours and hours perfecting lyrics so they sound perfect in delivery and understanding. but unfortunately you cant really do that in real life you know? its tough. so he doesn& #39;t say things well. and it makes sense to him but it doesn& #39;t to others.
so you have issues like yesterday where he knows exactly what he wants to say and how to say it. but he doesn& #39;t realize that others cant read his mind. and it kind of builds on again where he uses humor to cope with a lot.
especially his depression. i think its calmed down a lot because he realizes those jokes dont really go over well with everyone. and yesterday was an example of that.
i will say that never would i use the word manipulative to describe him. maybe im bias because well....you know. but i dont think it was manipulative at all. i think everyone thinks they know tyler and so when things like this happen-
its immediately "this isnt the tyler i know" and "this isnt the tyler that did yadda yadda whatever" but do you know tyler? really? because i promise you that tyler didnt mean to hurt anyone.
he can be ignorant sometimes. and if tyler didnt have to say anything about anything ever. he probably wouldnt. and i think we all can relate to that.
and regarding some of the statements he made. some of you were like "well you aren& #39;t talking about what i think you should be so you know you suck and you& #39;re manipulative" when he was speaking on something hes spoken on all along.
and that really hurt him. you made him feel like there was no place for what he cares about. isnt it just as important as what you fight for? he doesn& #39;t like to speak on things he doesn& #39;t relate to. because he doesn& #39;t want someone to take something the wrong way.
but he is seeing that he cant do that anymore. and that& #39;s good because he& #39;s learning. you think the whole "he only speaks about issues that impact him because he only cares about that" isnt true
he speaks on what he can relate to so that others can speak on what they& #39;re relating to. unfortunately he had the mindset that "well because i cant relate to this i shouldnt say anything because it& #39;s not my place" but he realized that it is his place. just in a different way
he needs to learn how to be a vocal ally. i have only ever had positive interactions with the josephs. even though some of them are you know a little eh. i dont see tyler as being that way.
i never thought in a million years i would have to defend tyler joseph and tell people hes not a racist. and that hes not manipulative. is he complicated? oh yeah. you& #39;d have to be to be able to create all that. but he is not a bad person.
he has faults. and believe it or not you do too. you reading this. you have done things to hurt others and make mistakes as well. and i am sure you wanted grace and understanding. you wanted to be forgiven. and i& #39;m sure you have been hurt. just like him and everyone else.
the only difference is he& #39;s in the spotlight. if you are considering leaving i ask you to reconsider. tyler loves you. a lot. in a lot of ways you are his everything. you are his safe place. and you help him just as much as he helps you. we& #39;re friends. all of us.
and sometimes friends make mistakes.
i appreciate if you have taken the time to read this and i hope you can see your friend tyler through a new set of eyes. and maybe if your vision is cloudy. it& #39;s a little clearer.
