A thread for a frustrated #Catholic Church.
To fellow Catholics - I get it.
You are frustrated by the lack of leadership we seem to have lost for generations.
You want real renewal & change that should have happened long ago.
You want piety & reverence.
You long for the days when courageous clergy boldly lead out front.
You want the family, life, prayer, and truth to be something more than just rubber-stamped, but life-changing.

The Church is suffering. I get it.
But, do we all really get all of it?
Do we see the priests who serve us day in & day out, even if imperfect, yet giving of themselves to us in service?

Do we understand the Bishops who are fighting for these things, even if quietly and in a way which may not be in the public eye?
Do we support the apostolates that are making real change, not just those that have monetized Catholic anger & frustration?
Do we pray every single day in a personal & deep way?
Do we believe that God is in charge & doing big things, even if we don't always see them?
Are we open to personal conversion, which happens when we humble ourselves & say "yes" to whatever God wants of us?

Sometimes life is rough and living out the faith is hard. I get it.

Still...
God doesn't want your anger & frustration to reject the real authority HE gave to the hierarchy. So instead of publicly maligning Bishops, double your prayer for them.
Yet, God doesn't want us to wait for clergy to lead, where he has given rightful authority of the laity to lead.
Lead your family. Lead your friends. Lead in the public sphere that clergy don't live in. Lead at work. Lead in your neighborhood. How can you lead? By evangelizing, praying, & being a saint. No need to wait for others to lead in this way.
Hang on to what is true, good, & beautiful. Reject division, lies, immorality, frustration, angst, & the attacks of the enemy who comes to separate us from God & each other.

So...
Let us love.
Let us serve others.
Let us fight for what is true & good.
Let us not settle for just being ok or comfortable.
Let us be saints.
Let us be courageous.
Let us invest our lives in others.
Let us pray.
Let us evangelize & make disciples.
Our job. as Catholics, is to be holy, glorify God, go to heaven, and get as many others as we can to join us there. We won't do these things through anger and frustration...
