Reasons NOT to piss off a palliative woman who’s having a bad week, and an even worse day? She absolutely WILL march down the road in her pyjamas to yell at some builders 😂! 1/15
So this week we’ve had a broken washing machine flood our kitchen, a broken oven (AGAIN; at this pint the damn thing is like Robocop, more replacement parts than original), my autistic auntie has picked her skin, has an infected finger and spent the morning at the hospital...2/15
I’m also having severe withdrawal symptoms with my opioid and benzodiazepine detox (which we’ve spoken to Paliative care about and is sadly just part of the course) which has made me much more grumpy, and much less patient (this is relevant). 3/15
Then just when dad and my auntie Em got home just when I’d gotten everyone sorted and finished cleaning and was about to finally have a shower... we realised we had no electricity 😭🙃 4/15
My mum is stressing about al our medical devices and the phones (in case we need an ambulance when the medical devices don’t work) but I’m absolutely fuming I can’t have a shower (dad was more upset there was no tea 😂) 5/15
We ring the electricity company who were honestly amazing and said they sort it ASAP... meanwhile we have to get subway for lunch because we can’t make anything. Man can’t go because she the contact for the electrician, and Emma can’t help because she can’t use her bad hand 6/15
So my palliative care, very tired, very grumpy ass gets sent with dad to hold stuff in the car. At this place my I’m having a meltdown, although admittedly some of that may have been ginger as I’d calmed down a bit post subway 😂 7/15
I had not calmed down completely, however! Especially when the electric company was gone to tell us the reason we have no electricity is cause the builders on the site down the road CUT THROUGH A WIRE 🙃🙃🙃 8/15
At this point, I’m absolutely fuming. So guess who rang the project manager and told him off? Yeah, me. The dude kept trying to interrupt me at first but I just kept saying “no” and then taking over him... after due minutes he was apologising, PROFUSELY 😂😎👍🏻 9/15
However, I’m still very, very cross. So I tell my mam that if someone walks me down, I’m gonna go yell at the builders down the road who actually cut the wires. 10/15
So off to go, I’m my sweaty pjs I’d been cleaning in, my Minnie Mouse dressing gown, with spectacular bed head, and a pair of rainbow sunglasses. People are starring as I march down the road on my walker but I honestly could not give a single shit. 11/15
I rock up at the building site, very out of breathe and slightly blue because today was not my best day, call the nearest guy over, and this big, tough looking, burly builder takes one look at my utterly unamused face and decides this isn’t his problem to deal with 😂 12/15
He calls the site manager over, who I proceed to tell off. Dude was actually really nice and apologised several times 🙌🏻 13/15
When I’d calmed down, however, I realised he was hot, something I hadn’t noticed in my red haze of rage. As we walked away, my auntie kept insisting I should’ve got his number 😂 but I insisted on gay a) I was there to yell, not pull, and b) I was not at my most attractive. 14/15
I was wearing a dressing gown I’d spilled half my dinner down guys 🙈😂!
But, WE HAVE OUR ELECTRIC BACK 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I’VE HAD A SHOWER!! And my mum is highly amused I’m following in her footsteps of being a badass 😎 I learned from the best! 15/15
