TCAC rejects and condemns the recent rhetoric from the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD), who are now threatening to crack down on BLM protests. All protests organized by TCAC have been peaceful, and arranged under readily identifiable leadership. (1/3)
It is right-wing vigilantes who have driven trucks through protests, pushed into protesters, and physically attacked attendees. TPD is demonstrating its inherent white supremacy in preventing peaceful BLM protests rather than punishing armed right-wing provocateurs. (2/3)
The mayor, as well as the majority of city and county commissioners, have either sided with TPD or remained silent. Much of the local media coverage has empowered TPD's narrative and demonized BLM protesters, helping restrict the movement for Black lives. (3/3)
