Was reviewing my list of GoI websites. Listed them out by their public suffix to see the usage stats.

Found some fun ones, and a few shady ones. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đŸ§”" title="Thread" aria-label="Emoji: Thread">
For some reason, GoI Directory has the website for Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab, Pakistan http://www.tdcp.gop.pk/ .">https://www.tdcp.gop.pk/">...

It doesn& #39;t show up on search, but try http://goidirectory.nic.in/sitecounter.php?id=121">https://goidirectory.nic.in/sitecount...
Some embassies use the TLD for the host country. Which means the registration/renewal process is likely very cumbersome and many of them are up for grabs. (Most seem to have switched to http://gov.in"> http://gov.in  now).

I tried to make a list, but whois rate limits are annoying...
There& #39;s also lots of shady sites that have been entered and removed from the list but are still linked indirectly (doesn& #39;t show up search).

http://goidirectory.nic.in/sitecounter.php?id=10902">https://goidirectory.nic.in/sitecount... links to http://university.gen.in"> http://university.gen.in  for eg, which is screaming SCAM.
DD was using http://ddsaptagiri.tv"> http://ddsaptagiri.tv  officially.

Older documents still refer to the old domain (now hosting blogspam). So does the GoI Directory website: http://goidirectory.nic.in/sitecounter.php?id=8138">https://goidirectory.nic.in/sitecount...
GoI publishes Guidelines for Indian Government websites ( https://web.guidelines.gov.in/ ),">https://web.guidelines.gov.in/">... which itself notes (2.2.1)

>Website is registered under ‘ http://gov.in"> http://gov.in â€™ or ‘ http://nic.in"> http://nic.in â€™ domain.

And then we get these:
Here& #39;s a summary list of what all public suffixes GoI is using, with a count for each.
