That a prominent Canadian "national security" figure, frequently called on as an expert voice, not only takes part in this dehumanization but then *actively seeks credit for it* years later is not exactly surprising but certainly tiresome.

The Anwar al-Awlaki assassination is a particularly bad subject for a funny murder cake, since he was a U.S. citizen killed by his own government without any due process. Two weeks later, his 16-year-old son was killed by the same method. Har har!

Mocking drone deaths — which have killed thousands of innocent Muslims across the world, including hundreds of children — is not just gallows humor or being edgy. The fact that one is able to do so for years without apparent professional cost is proof of systemic racism.
