I have been asked by Glasgow Council to chair a review of the third sector's relationship with the local authority. I anticipate it will look at funding, commissioning, decision-making, collaboration, communities and more.
I feel really privileged because it's a great opportunity to bring together our learning from lockdown and the Glasgow Communities Fund. It is our chance to reset the relationship with the council - replacing some of the negative history with a better future.
The council have asked for this because they value the work of the sector, acknowledge mistakes have been made and share my belief that we can do better for the people of the city if we work together.
It's not just a chance to think about how we work with the council - but also how we work with each other and the communities we serve. It's about what we want the third sector to look like in the future.
I'm calling it Better Relationships, Better Outcomes until someone comes up with a Better Name.
We will need a small number of people to formally join the group, but I don't want those folk hidden away writing something in isolation. We have the chance to use technology to get mass participation in this.
So I am inviting everyone - community groups, voluntary organisations, charities, social enterprises and public sector - who wants things to be better to come and join the discussion in our online chat platform.

I look forward to chatting there.
