"vote!" is the liberal version of a conservative's "work harder!"
i see many ppl taking this the wrong way. this is not about not voting. it's about people listening to your needs and saying "just vote!" instead of actually caring for example about criticizing politicians so that they might change, which would lead you to vote by yourself.
it's like someone saying "i can't find a job" and then another person saying "well just look for one!". that doesn't do anything and it is arrogant, because it presumes they don't already know that. maybe help them, ask someone you know, point them to a good website or whatever.
person a: "i'm broke"
person b: "have you ever thought about earning money?"
that's why this is a critique of electoralism as such. it's about allocating the issues outside of "just vote!". there are reasons why ppl don't vote, there are reasons why there are few candidates you want to vote for, there are reasons why so many ppl vote for the wrong ones.
and even more so, there are reasons why voting doesn't help as much as we'd wish. there are reasons why nothing changes, or very little, every 4 years.

more often than not, real change happens on the streets or when you organize, not on the ballot box
