Don’t meet up with the expectation you created in your head. They too have stuff they go through. We’re not all therapists, we’re not all able to give you perfectly soothing responses when you need them.
“I told her what I was going through and she just said ‘me too”.
You’re expecting that someone going through the same trauma as you acts like a bigger person to cater to your emotions at that particular point in time when you both are going through the same things.
If you’re one to be a “therapist friend”, great. If you have the “great listeners” as friends too, great. Don’t just vilify your friends because they don’t make good therapists. Their emotions are as valid as yours.
