Earlier this year, the EPA approved it on GE soybeans without notifying the public that a comment period had opened.

But they told industry, so all they got were glowing reviews without any input from those who care about public health or the environment
Well now, it's up for approval on genetically engineered cotton.

This time EPA did announce it to the public....but with a significant amount of trickery
You have to copy and paste the docket number to http://regulations.gov  to see what's really going on

Now it shows: "Application for new use of isoxaflutole on Isoxaflutole-resistant cotton"

There we go

https://beta.regulations.gov/docket/EPA-HQ-OPP-2020-0202
The public facing announcement makes you think its being used on some random manufacturing byproduct that's insignificant

But really it's proposing to use it over-the-top of one of the most widely grown crops in the U.S.

It's extremely significant and extremely concerning
This is clearly aimed at trying to fly under the radar and prevent meaningful public input again (albeit not as egregious as before)

EPA has found isoxaflutole to be “Likely to be Carcinogenic to Humans”
It is a known groundwater contaminant and very persistent, altogether not the type of chemical you want to see increase exponentially

But that's what's going to happen because that's what's been happening with all GE crop-associated herbicides
Well guess what EPA? We found it. Expect A LOT of comments for your reading pleasure

And, who knows, maybe a lawsuit at the end of this whole charade?
