For years I had a credit card and had no idea what all the fine-print was regarding APRs.

It was in my early to mid-20s that I realized that people actually bought things on credit and paid their bills later with 25% interest and I was floored.
Calculus is pretty cool, but it's really difficult to justify teaching it when so many Americans graduate from high school unable to do basic math and lack financial education unless they were lucky to have parents who already knew the ways of the world.
