True story, #Mumbai❀
There was a samosa vadapav stall near the bus stop where I used to get down daily. I noticed three small kids r working tirelessly since few days there and then one day I saw one running that stall mistreating the kids & first time in my life I dialed 100.
Within 15 mins Police were there..
They questioned the Man who I complained about and he revealed that those kids are his distant cousins and their parents have sent them to earn some money here. The owner of that stall was called and was grilled & warned..
He made sure in front of the Police that he will send the kids back. The owner was a scary looking guy wearing white safari and gold chains and rings all over and he was accompanied with 3-4 young men, I could tell by his stearn looks that he was extremely pissed at me.
The fear and anxiety was visible now on my face. I was cursing myself that what have I done? why didn't I think this through as I live alone here 😳and countless horrifying thoughts were clouding my brain about my own safety.. the Police could sense it too.
After everything was done, the Officer first addressed me:"Madam, tumhi roz yeta zaata ka ya rastya warun?"
Me: Ho,Sir.(I was literally shaking)
He said: "Aadhi ti baatli kadhun don ghut pani pya ani aaika majhi goshta neet, ajibaat ghabraicha naai, kayla ka? Bindass rahaicha..
Ani kuni tumhala zor dakhawla tar saral shambhar war call lawaicha. Mi 3-4 diwas ithe phirkun pahin, tumhi tension ghyu naka, kayla ka ho??"
Me: 🙂😌 Ho, Sir (with a sigh of relief)
Then he turned to the Owner: "Madam cha call aala nai pahije, kayla ka ho?"
Owner: Arey kai Sir..
Police (with a form voice): "KAYLA KI NAAI??"
Owner: Ho Sir, ho Sir!

After that whole incident, I never saw the kids again. The police actually came patrolling for the next whole week. I was never troubled by any of those men from that day.
I didn't speak to the guy running that stall or that owner ever again and I hope they sent the kids back to their homes. It was a very impulsive decision to call the Police. But they helped and the conduct was completely professional.
@MumbaiPolice undoubtedly make Mumbai as the safest city for women in our country. They are truly the finest of the lot.
And #Mumbai is ❀. If given a choice I would want to settle there and no where else.
