We think voting BJP out == Ridding the society of communalism and casteism.
It& #39;s neither so simple nor will it work that way. Step 1 is to vote them out, only then can we move to Step 2 - trying to improve & fix the fissures in society.

A lot of people have held the biases and somewhat problematic views for a long time, it& #39;s just now speaking out hateful things is normalized. Until that situation is not changed, we cannot hope to introduce structural changes as the above thread mentions. 2/
What does that entail? First off, let& #39;s stop cancelling people at the first chance we get. If we want a change in governance, it& #39;ll only happen if enough people vote for it. That includes the people we& #39;re so ready to cancel (not just Twitter but also IRL) 3/
