My favourite defender at each price points

I look at every price point from 7.5 to 4.0 and highlight my favourite defensive pick at each of those prices for this season.

7.5 - Trent - Only defender available but also a great pick.

7.0 - Robertson - Again only available defender at 7.0 great pick but I prefer Trent.

6.5 - VVD - Only available at 6.5. Solid pick and will tick along. I prefer Trent and Robbo for value though.

6.0 - Doherty - Doherty returner 4.8 points per game. This is the third highest out of regular starters behind Trent and Robertson.

Spurs are looking to offload Aurier and Doherty fits the mould of a very attacking right back. Strong opening fixtures he could start well.

5.5 - Tierney

Three strong fixtures in the first 4 four Arsenal makes him a strong early differential.

A big end to the season including a large haul in GW38 shows Tierney has potential for significant attacking returns.

5.0 - Shaw

A surprising price for Shaw as Wan Bissaka and Maguire are both priced at 5.5 million. First choice LB, strong fixtures after a Gameweek 1 blank as well as potential attacking returns getting forward.

A very nice differential here at an intriguing price

4.5 - Charlie Taylor

My cheap 4.5 pick is Charlie Taylor. What’s not to love? A 4.5 defender from a team who kept 15 clean sheets last season.

1 assist in 24 games as well due to injury, meaning he could have a return in almost 50% of matches.

At just 4.5? YES PLEASE

4.0 - Johnson 4.0

The 4.0 defenders currently look a bit thin on the ground.

The likes of Fergusen who was a popular pick but now potentially injured.
Mitchell at Palace a short term option.
West Ham have very difficult opening fixtures but Johnson could be the most nailed
