What is missing from this is any questioning about why social distancing is necessary to be ‘safe’ from a virus killing 30-50 times fewer ppl than other respiratory infections. With economic damage as grt as this, their continuation cannot be proportionate. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2020/09/03/can-government-get-britain-fully-back-work-would-break-rules/
Sources: Last week in July (last for which I can find figures) there were 928 deaths from flu, pneumonia and other respiratory infections: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/flu-kills-five-times-more-than-covid-9wlzsdlh9. That was a low number and can be presumed typical.
In the week ending 3rd September, there were only 20 deaths in hospitals of patients *with* SARS-CoV-2 - a number which has declined relentlessly:

Even if one takes the ONS figures, which include anyone dying from any cause within 28 days of a positive test for SARS-CoV-2, that is only 138 in the last week, around 7 times less than other respiratory infections in the last week of July: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/conditionsanddiseases/articles/coronaviruscovid19roundup/2020-03-26
