I& #39;m not really sure what "moderation" means these days. I& #39;d call myself a "centrist", but that& #39;s just a sort of averaging process applied to an identity as an anti-war, market-skeptical, social conservative.

@KatelynBeaty also seems to be claiming at the bottom of this thread that we have a deficit of voices who are willing to be unapologetically outspoken on Twitter, which is... not consistent with my experience here so far, shall we say!
I don& #39;t really think any of this is sincere. It& #39;s not like Beaty actually prefers the rowdy anti-intellectual evangelical MAGA-verse over these centrists, or would commend them if they joined it.
No one ever gets praised for reducing levels of *self*-tone-policing.

And isn& #39;t "criticizing people for sounding performatively centrist" a category of tone-policing in itself, if I understand that word correctly?
