NYC scientists: do you want to mentor NYC high school students this year? Our Urban Barcode Research Program is recruiting scientist mentors for 2020-21! Apply to be a mentor here: https://forms.gle/PCks5eB97scdycF76

If you want more information, message us or email [email protected]!
A UBRP mentor can be an undergraduate or graduate student, Ph.D. researcher, or any person with a working knowledge of DNA barcoding and/or ecology, in NYC, who is willing to spend sufficient time with a high school student team. DM or email [email protected] for more info!
How it works: A mentor is paired with a team of two students who have taken our preparatory courses. The team works on a project using DNA barcoding under the guidance of the mentor - from proposal to poster!
Mentors (and students) get a stipend, and UBRP covers the cost of processing a limited number of samples! You can also learn more about the program on our website: https://dnabarcoding101.org/programs/ubrp  and see past projects in the "UBRP Student Projects" section.
All teams will be working virtually in the fall to write proposals. We can discuss options for at-home barcoding/virtual only work for mentors that can’t invite students into their labs this spring due to COVID.
You can follow @DNALC.
