If there even was a reasonable explanation as to why @tylerrjoseph wasn’t talking about Black Lives Matter, the issue is that rather than giving any sort of explanation he made light of the fact that he felt entitled enough not to talk about an incredibly important topic.
No one thinks it’s a bad thing that he cares about other issues, but you can’t use that to justify him being incredibly immature about one of the most important topics right now.
His tweet wasn’t about the issues he chooses to focus on, it was deliberately making a joke out of his own entitlement and clear disregard for human rights and social justice.
Furthermore, doubling down two hours later, only to follow it up with the most half-assed, gas-lighting apology after another two hours is childish. I saw a tweet that said if the apology has the word “if” in it, it isn’t an apology. He barely apologized.
It is important for celebrities to use their platforms and if you feel the need to defend rich and famous people who have a clear and deliberate disregard for the issues facing the world, you have been duped.
I’ll throw in a couple of hashtags #TylerJoseph #top #twentyonepilots just to get this thread to show up
