The biggest indicator that this analysis is untrue, is that so many on “the left” maintained that, Elizabeth Warren was a progressive.

If anything, “the left” shows a willingness to support flawed politicians—If said politicians at minimum, back popular policies they agree with

By painting “the left” as “unreasonable” and their demands are “pie in the sky”— liberals and corporatists ignore what is actual research by “the left” and commitment to supporting politicians who have advocated beneficial policies for all. AKA, clearly “doing their homework”

No one touted Markey as a “perfect progressive.” His financing is corrupted, he’s supported invasions into the ME etc.

But b/c the US left has a very domestic focus (due to eroded domestic welfare here imo) they acknowledge that for *this context* Markey is “the better” choice

[not that different from the fact that here— they routinely engage in democratic “lesser of two evils” politicking. Except this time around you had someone (Markey) who actually co-sponsored M4A + has a good climate record, which increased his “left” support]

This wrong-headed analysis though, will only hurt Kennedy in the long run (if he ever seeks to run for office again) since it absolutely shows that any indication of him pivoting as a “changed man”— will 100% be
