There's a brand of Christian leader on this website who touts political moderation. From this posture, he can easily critique both progressives and conservatives, seeming to be above the fray and the only "rational" voice in the room.
But centrism is not a virtue in and of itself. Nor are clear political convictions "worldly" or emotion-driven per se. I do wonder if the fallback to moderation/centrism serves to provide a virtuous sheen to a discomfort with clearly speaking out on current events.
But mostly I'm just tired of seeing so much false equivalence and tone-policing. Let people have their convictions without trying to balance it with "but the other side" etc. or spiritualizing. If strong takes make you uncomfortable, maybe this isn't the website for you.
